JUST US KIDS Junior Carnival Band Launch

Just Us Kids Jr. Carnival Band launched their band presenting “Mas De Imperial” for 2010.

Just Us Kids Junior Carnival Band is celebrating six (6) years of participation in Junior Carnival.  Just Us Kids is one of St. Lucia’s leading Junior Carnival Bands which have contributed greatly to the development of Junior Carnival by massive participation which grows from strength to strength every year.

Just us kids Jr. carnival is one of the leading junior bands to date. For the first two years the band’s attire was jeans and T-shirt costuming was introduced  in 2007. Over the last few years they have portrayed “Come sail 2007”, “Mask Parade 2008”, and “Pirates 2009”.

They have been successful in winning Junior Band of the Year in 2008.  They have also placed in the Juniour King and Queen of the bands and the individual of the year.

The launching took place at the Vigie Sports Complex yesterday,  Sunday May 16^th with a great family fair.  Some of St. Lucia’s top soca artistes entertained the crowd with their new music for 2010. This was a fun day for the children and adults with the launching of their costumes for this year.  Eight (8) sections were displayed namely:  Temple Guards, Enchanted wizards, Lantern Bearer, Temple Fan Dancer, Flag Bearer, Royal Tigress, Dragon Warrior and Gold Pheasant.

The leader of the band Barry George said he looks forward to greater participation this year by the youngsters and assures them of having a great time for Kiddies Carnival. Band meeting are held every Thursday from 4:30pm at the Ave Maria School.
