LIME and Mas Action Team up for Carnival 2011

The most successful band in the history of St Lucia is ready for action once again, thanks to a renewed collaboration with LIME for the 2011 festival. The Caribbean’s leading communications company and only full-service provider has reaffirmed its partnership with the island’s leading carnival band by renewing its title sponsorship of Mas Action (now known as LIME Mas Action) for St Lucia Carnival 2011. The announcement coincides with LIME Mas Action’s 10^th anniversary which is being celebrated this year.

LIME is providing the band with financial support, mobile phones and free airtime, free promotional airtime on LIME radio programs, help with advertising and LIME-branded giveaways.

LIME has been the title sponsor of LIME Mas Action for the past seven years. The band has been awarded prizes in all categories of the Parade of the Bands and is the only St Lucia carnival band to win the prestigious Band of the Year title for consecutive years twice. They won in 2003, 2004 and 2005 and went on to capture the title again four consecutive times in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010.

At a presentation last Friday at LIME Blue Coral, LIME Head of Corporate Sales, Cheryl Francis praised LIME Mas Action for the “phenomenal contributions” it has made to the development and elevation of carnival in St Lucia.

We believe strongly that when we partner with bands like Mas Action to support carnival, we are helping the people understand where we come from and where we are going culturally,” said Ms Francis.

Oswald Augustin, Chief Executive Officer of LIME Mas Action, expressed his deep appreciation for LIME’s continued support. “We truly appreciate the support that we have received from LIME over the years. We could not have achieved the success we’ve enjoyed without their help. LIME has made a tremendous contribution to the development of carnival that must not go unrecognized.
